I can't believe it's been almost a year since our last :icondrumfishproductions: contest on deviantART! A FEW NEW HEADSHOT SKETCHES

Here are a few new headshot sketches done in preparation for the 2012 NYCC (New York Comicon!). I plan to have a bunch of premade art to sell there, because I don't think I will have much time to do commissions as I'd like. Gotta focus on selling the books, prints and figurines!! More soon.

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 32: DONNA TROY (again)

Since we have two weeks now to get our drawings done for Illustrious Bits, I decided to do another sketch for this week's theme: Donna Troy. Since I already drew her Wondergirl look, I thought I'd do her adult "Troia" look (she later dropped the codename and just went by Donna Troy). I had fun with the hair and the stars. :)

NEVERMINDS BY ID COMICS

This sketch of the three ladies from NEVERMINDS was drawn by the talented forces behind ID Comics! Penelope Rivera Gaylord drew Alanis, Jerry Gaylord drew Nina and Bryan Turner drew Samanya. I can't say enough great things about these artists and their work. Anyone who has not check out their art needs to do so right here!

SAMANYA BY KATE GLASHEEN

Here is another great sketch by one of my favorite artists! Kate Glasheen did this kickass rendition of Samanya from Neverminds at the 2012 Wizard World Philly Con. I love Kate's work and hope everyone will give her website a look here!

TEMPLAR BY TIM LASKEY

Another of my favorite artists that I only get to see at Wizard World Philly is Tim Laskey. Tim is a great guy and super fast when he sketches. I think he did this sketch of Templar from SENTINELS in about 20 minutes, lol. Crazy and awesome!

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 32: DONNA TROY

The theme for week 32 of Illustrious Bits is Donna Troy. I decided to draw Donna in her classic Wondergirl outfit since she's getting a bit of a revival with the DC Nation cartoon of her (along with Batgirl and Supergirl) as the "Super Best Friends Forever". Donna is a tough character to draw because she's had three artists who have really defined her look; Nick Cardy, George Perez and Phil Jimenez. Still, this was a fun sketch and topic for the week. If I have time, I might try another version of her.

DRUMFISH PRODUCTIONS SERIES 2 FIGURINES UPDATE!

Here are some updated pictures of the second set of figurines Drumfish Productions is doing. They really imporved Samanya and fix the issues we had with her flames and markings on her face. She looks perfect now and is ready for them to do the painted prototype before moving to production.

Templar still needs a little work, but he is looking amazing! His armor is kickass and looks perfect!! We'll post more as we progress!!

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 31: ANY OF BATMAN'S ROBINS - CARRIE KELLY/ROBIN

Here is the seventh and final sketch I did for Illustrious Bits theme of "any of Batman's Robins". I couldn't finish off this series without drawing the ultimate fangirl, Carrie Kelly, from the Dark Knight Returns. I had never drawn her before and I actually really enjoyed sketching her.

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 31: ANY OF BATMAN'S ROBINS - HELENA WAYNE/HUNTRESS

Here is the sixth of seven sketches I did for this week's theme of "any of Batman's Robins" on Illustrious Bits. Huntress is Helena Wayne, the daughter of Batman and Catwoman from Earth 2. Helena was originally Robin on her original world, but became Huntress here.

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 31: ANY OF BATMAN'S ROBINS - DAMIEN WAYNE/ROBIN

Here is the fifth Robin in DC's continuity (pre DCnU), Damien Wayne. This is also the fifth sketch I did for this week's theme of "any of Batman's Robins" for Illustrious Bits.
Damien is a fun character to draw because he's such a brat.

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 31: ANY OF BATMAN'S ROBINS - STEPHANIE BROWN/BATGIRL

Here is the fourth of my contributions to this week's them of "any of Batman's Robins" for Illustrious Bits.
This is Stephanie Brown (originally Spoiler!) the fourth Robin in DC's continuity (before the new 52). She went on to become Batgirl right before DC did their reboot, so I decided to draw her as we last saw here. When or if she appears in the DCnU remains to be seen.

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 31: ANY OF BATMAN'S ROBINS - TIM DRAKE/RED ROBI

Here is my third contribution to this week's theme of "any of Batman's Robins" theme on Illustrious Bits. This is the third Robin, Tim Drake, in his new look as Red Robin in the DCnU.

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 31: ANY OF BATMAN'S ROBINS - JASON TODD/RED HOOD

Illustrious Bits theme this week is "any of Batman's Robins", so I drew Jason Todd in his new identity of Red Hood. I really enjoy Jason as this charater. Very Cool!!

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 31: ANY OF BATMAN'S ROBINS - DICK GRAYSON/NIGHTWING

This is the first of what I hope will be a few sketches for this week's theme on Illustrious Bits. The theme this week is any of Batman's Robins. I have a few sketched out and hope to get them done before the end of the week. Here is the first Robin, Dick Grayson, in his current look in the DCnU as Nightwing.

DRUMFISH PRODUCTIONS SERIES 2 FIGURINES

I didn't post these pictures with my last post, but here are the designs for Drumfish Productions' second set of figurines schedule to arrive in time for the New York Comicon (fingers crossed!). Templar from SENTINELS was picked as our second character from the SENTINELS series after much debate. Luciano Vecchio (artist of SENTINELS) and I went back and forth a bit trying decide which character we should do. It was a tough choice as we really would love to see Electron, Harlette and others made. But Templar is the central character in the series and it only seemed natural that we pick him. He also looks totally kickass in his updated design!
For our second character from NEVERMINDS, there was no doubt as to who we wanted to do. NEVERMINDS artist, Jamie Fay and I both knew we had to pick Samanya! She's already a fan favorite and her design by Jamie is amazing. I think will make for an excellent looking figurine!

SUMMER UPDATES!

It's been a while, so I thought I'd give a few updates on what's been going on!!!!
DRUMFISH FIGURINES
I'm very, very proud to announce that we have received both of the first two figurines from Drumfish Productions SENTINELS and NEVERMINDS series. Alanis Munroe and Firebomb look AMAZING! Seriously, I wasn't quite sure how the mass produced figurines would look once they were made (I had fears of crossed eyes and missing feet) but the manufacturer did an unbelievable job on these. They are VERY detailed and painted perfectly! Thank you all for waiting patiently for the figurines, but now the wait is over and they are ready to ship! All of the preorders we received have gone out and I want to make everyone aware that we only did a limited run on these which we have already sold halfway out of. So, if anyone is considering buying them, don't wait! Seriously, we don't have many more left!! Each figurine is $40 and shipping within the USA is $5 (outside of the USA, I have to check rates!). Please note me on here or via email at sentinelsmail@aol.com. We accept PayPal, check or money order!
The figurines turned out so great and we've gotten such positive response, that we are moving forward with the second set of figurines! Our second set will feature Templar from SENTINELS and Samanya from NEVERMINDS. We expect to have them completed in time for the 2012 New York Comicon (NYCC) in October. We'll post updated pictures, like we did for the first set, as the figurines progress.

NEVERMINDS #3
We're hard at work on NEVERMINDS #3 and plan to release it at NYCC in October. We hope to post previews soon and are excited to get this issue out! It'll will be our most interesting issue yet! In the meantime, you can catch up on NEVERMINDS issue #1 and 2 in either pdf form or hardcopy at the links below!

NEVERMINDS Issue #1

NEVERMINDS Issue #2

BUGGED
I wrote this original graphic novel a looooong time ago and truly can not wait to get it out into the world! I want to hold off telling anything more about it except that it is a dark (but semi-comedic) story. Trust me, it's something I've very proud of. The artist on the book, Teyo, has created a really amazing visual world that fits the story PERFECTLY! We plan to release the book at the 2012 New York Comicon!

PRESS
I'm not sure everyone caught it, but SENTINELS member, Phazer, has had a pretty cool summer so far! Phazer was spotlighted in The NY Times GLBT and Allies Celebration! It was an honor to have him included in the diverse group of characters that represented gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals. Phazer was chosen by a commitee at the NY Times for being an adoptive father and mentor to a group of children who had lost their parents. NEVERMINDS artist, Jamie Fay, was also asked to draw the art for the celebration and did an amazing job!
A few weeks later, deviant artist, Travis Perkins, put Phazer in his Indie Comic character grouping done to promote Independent comics and creators!

SENTINELS ANTHOLOGY #2We're officially working on this! It's been a long time since we've revisted the SENTINELS world and after discussing things, SENTINELS artist, Luciano Vecchio and I have come up with a terrific idea for something completely new and exciting! We believe what we have planned for this 2nd Anthology will be really fun and we have some really AMAZING talent involved! Seriously, I can't wait to show off some of the work. But not yet! Soon, I promise!! We plan to release this next year.
For those of you who haven't checked out SENTINELS yet, there's still time! There are already four volumes and an anthology out there. SENTINELS 1-4 are 216 pages (bw) each and the Anthology is 96 pages (color). Each book is $14.95 and we cover shipping as long as you are in the USA (outside the USA shipping rates wil be applied, sorry!). Please note me if interested and anyone ordering all five books gets a slight discount! Just note me here or send an email to sentinelsmail@aol.com and I'll tell you details. We accept PayPal, check or money order.

SENTINELS RE-VISIONED
I've mentioned on here a few times about the possibility of re-publishing SENTINELS in color. We've had a few companies interested, but then things didn't work out. We haven't given up hope yet though and SENTINELS artist, Luciano Vecchio, is still re-working and coloring pages when he has free time (which isn't often as he's a busy guy and in demand!). But this project might be a way off and not this year.

NEW DRUMFISH WEBSITE
This is still being worked on. This year for sure though.

WEBCOMIC
Still working on, but probably won't debut until near the end of the year!

CONVENTIONS
As I mentioned above, my next convention will be NYCC (the New York Comicon) in October! I'm very proud to be at the convention once again and to have gotten picked to have a table in Artist Alley. I'll be there along with and premiering NEVERMINDS #3, the second set of Drumfish figurines (Templar and Samanya) and my new original graphic novel, BUGGED. This will be our only other convention for 2012. But for 2013 we already have four conventions planned!!

As always, be patient with us, working full time jobs makes it difficult to get things done as fast as other creators do. But our passion to get these things out there to the masses is just as great. Thanks to anyone still checking in here for hanging with us!
Be well!!!!!!
-Rich B.

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 30: ANY CHARACTER CREATED BY ROB LIEFELD - CABLE

Here is the last of the three sketches I did for this week's "any character created by Rob Liefeld" theme on Illustrious Bits. I had a blast doing these and wish I had time to do more. Maybe next time! For now though, here is Cable from the X-Men. I can't believe it, but I honestly don't think I've ever drawn him before. I tried to give him a slightly Liefeldian chest here too, lol.

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 30: ANY CHARACTER CREATED BY ROB LIEFELD - DEADPOOL

Here's another sketch done for Illustrious Bits week 30 theme, "any character created by Rob Liefeld".  I had wanted to do a few sketches for this week, but was only able to get three done, all of them being Marvel characters. Here's a quick Deadpool headshot.
