THE 3RD DRUMFISH ART CONTEST ON DEVIANT ART RESULTS!

Even though the 3rd Drumfish Productions DeviantArt Contest ended in October, I just realized that I never posted the entries and results on here! My appologises, I've been bad about updating on here. I'm trying to fix that and catch up today.  :)
The first place winner of the contest was Templar from Sentinels drawn by Gavin Michelli. It truly impressed us all! Congrats, Gavin!

See more of Gavin art here.

The second place winner was of the main Neverminds team (Samanya, Nina and Alanis) drawn by Dwayne Biddix. And I don't want to spoil anything, but Dwayne will soon be doing some major professional work! I'll let him tell when he is able to! It'll be amazing, I'm sure!

See more of Dwayne's work at here.

The third place winner of the contest was this drawing of the main Neverminds team (Samanya, Nina and Alanis) drawn by Michelle Sciuto. So cute!!

See more of Michelle's work here.
In total, we had record 24 entries for the contest!! Thanks again for all the submissions. We truly loved them all and each were amazing.

ALANIS MUNROE BY LUCIANO VECCHIO

Alanis from NEVERMINDS in her armor designed and drawn by SENTINELS artist, Luciano Vecchio to be used in NEVERMINDS issue #3! We wanted to involve Luciano in NEVERMINDS somehow, so we asked him to contribute a dress design for Alanis when she is in the Abyss. Since she appears differently every time she is in there, we thought it was a great idea and even helped advance the story. Thanks again, Luc!!

SIN BY ZIGGY BLUMENTHAL

Keeping up with his theme of drawing Drumfish characters in a playground, lol, here is Sin drawn by Ziggy Blumenthal. I love these!

ELECTRON BY DANIELLE ALEXIS ST. PIERRE

Electron from SENTINELS drawn by NEVERMINDS colorist supreme and amazing artist, Danielle Alexis St. Pierre, at the 2012 New York Comicon! See more of Danielle's work here.

RAPTURE AND TEMPLAR BY NEN

A little bit of a racy drawing done by Nen at the 2012 Wizard World Philly Con. Here is Rapture and Templar from SENTINELS in a scene from book 3. Ouch! You can see more of Nen's work here.

THE NEXT SENTINELS FIGURINE WILL BE SPLASH!

It looks like we have a winner!
I'm very proud to announce that the next SENTINELS character to become a figurine will be.....SPLASH!
Winning by a very large margin from the totals here on the blog, on the Drumfish Production Facebook page and on Deviant Art, it was obvious early on that Splash attracted a lot of interest. She'll make a beautiful looking figurine for sure. That's not to say that Phazer, Electron and Harlette didn't have their fans and supporters. And we truly hope we get to do one of those characters next. But for now, it's been decided and we'll be submitting Splash for sculpting early next year along with Nina from NEVERMINDS. I know both figurines are going to be amazing! We appreciate everyone's support and encouragement and we'll be showing off pictures as soon as we get them! Thanks, everyone! And special thanks to Luciano Vecchio for designing all the choices for the poll!

PICK THE NEXT SENTINEL TO BE MADE INTO A FIGURINE!

We are currently planning our next set of Drumfish Production figurines! We already know that will be doing a Nina figurine from NEVERMINDS, but we are having a tough time deciding which member of the SENTINELS team to pick. We've narrowed it down to four choices (Phazer, Electron, Splash and Harlette) that you see with this post. We thought it would be great to get some feedback from all of you and post a poll to see which character people like best and would be most interested in buying. Please vote here (to the side on this page) or on our Facebook page here.

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 44: BATWOMAN

So, this week on Illustrious Bits marks one complete year since we started the group. It's week 44, but we went biweekly for a while in the summer I think. Anyway, lol, this week's them is Batwoman and I wanted to try something a little different so I decided to pull out my old acryllic paints and go to town. I don't know that I like the end result, but it's been a long time sine I painted. As this is the one year mark on Illustrious Bits and I have not missed a week, I thought it was always good timing for me to take a little break from this weekly project. I'm not leaving, but you won't see me doing every week anymore, just ones that I have time for or really want to try to do. Hope you all understand!

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 43: ANY CHARACTER FROM LORD OF THE RINGS - GOLLUM

This week's theme on Illustrious Bits is "any Lord of the Rings character". I almost didn't get this one done, but found time to do this quick sketch of my favorite character from the series, Gollum! You gotta love him! lol.

DRUMFISH PRODUCTIONS NEW STORE!

With the help of Noel Short, the new Drumfish Productions website is being worked on. But the store for the site is up and functional!! Thanks to Jamie Fay for helping me set it up. Now I need some help from all of you who have read either Sentinels or Neverminds. Go over to the store site, check it out and if inclined or able to, write a review for one of the titles! We'd really appreciate the support and it'll be a great way for new readers to hear what others think.

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 42: ANY INDEPENDENT CHARACTER - HARLETTE AND CRUSHER FROM SENTINELS

The theme for week 42 over at Illustrious Bits is "any Independent Comic Book Character". I plan to do a few of these if I can, but thought I'd start it off doing one of the few remaining Sentinels members that I haven't done a headshot sketch of. Here are Harlette and Crusher in their final costume looks designed by Luciano Vecchio, who turned 30 today! Happy Birthday, old man!!!

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 41: AEON FLUX

This week's theme on Illustrious Bits is is Aeon Flux. I used to love the original animated series. The style was so bold and different and the movement of the characters was amazing. I considered drawing something with the infamous "fly in the eye" shot, but decided I wasn't quite feeling it.

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 40: THE FANTASTIC FOUR

Here's my entry for week 40 on Illustrious Bits! The theme for this week was any character from Fantastic Four. I couln't decide on just one member though, stop I decided to do all four of the original. :)

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 39: ANY CHARACTER FROM FINAL FANTASY - LULU

Here is another late post on a sketch from Illustrious Bits for week39's theme of "any character from Final Fantasy". I honestly don't know anything about Final Fantasy, so I picked a character that I found interesting visually. This is Lulu is from Final Fantasy X and specializes in the art of Black Magic, using various dolls to help cast spells.

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 38: ANY CHARACTER CREATED BY CHRIS CLAREMONT - ROGUE

I'm really late posting these last few submissions for Illustrious Bits on here. But this is my submission for week 38's theme "any character created by Chris Claremont". Originally, I planned to do my Classic X-Men collage for this, but I realized after I finished that Claremont did not create every character I drew. Luckily, I did all of the art in pieces and individually.
So, I decided to color Rogue and use her alone as my entry for week 38.

NEW YORK COMICON - ARTIST ALLEY TABLES N12 and N13

This is just a reminder that I'll be at the New York Comicon (NYCC) this weekend along with the creative team from NEVERMINDS, Jamie Fay and Danielle Alex St. Pierre. We'll be selling comics, figurines, prints, original art and taking commissions at the show! Please stop by and say hello! We'll be in Artist Alley at tables N12 and N13! Hope to see you there!

And just to give everyone a laugh, here's my poor puppy, Harlee, in a costume bought by my sister hoping she would get to go to comicon.  :P

CLASSIC NEW X-MEN PRINT!

Here is the latest print that I've done just in time for this week's New York Comicon! I had a poll on my DeviantArt page and asked followers what I should draw for my next print and a majority of them voted for the classic New X-Men team by Claremont and Cockrum. I really love that era and the characters are some of my favorites, so it was easy to get into drawing it. I decided to add Rogue in there as she joined shortly after and I wanted another female character in the picture. I was lucky to have NEVERMINDS artist, Jamie Fay, help me put this all together in Photoshop (I drew each character seperately this time) and then lucky again to have SENTINELS artist, Luciano Vecchio, agree to color this for me! Thanks again, guys!

NYCC THIS WEEKEND AND NY TIMES PANEL

Lots of stuff is happening here!! Jamie Fay, Danielle Alexis St Pierre and I have been working VERY hard to get issue #3 of Neverminds done for the show. And it's at the printers now. So, fingers cross that it looks as amazing pritned as it does on the computer screen. Jamie and Danielle really stepped it up a lot and have done the best work I've ever seen from them. Honestly, it's the best issue yet. We'll be premiering the book at NYCC (the New York Comicon) this week!

We're also premiering the second set of Drumfish figurines at NYCC. Templar from Sentinels and Samanya from Neverminds are scheduled to arrive today (I'll post pictures later!).

Right before the big NYCC show, I'll be on a panel at the New York Times. It's a diversity event for the GLBT and Allies group. They'll be discussing GLBT characters in comics and since they spotlighted Phazer from Sentinels earlier this year, they asked me to take part. It's also interesting timing as with the latest issue of Neverminds, we reveal that team member Samanya is a lesbian. It's really great to see that she is such a fan favorite and I hope this makes her even more unique and interesting to people. She's one of my favorite characters.

I'll be in Artist Alley at NYCC at tables N12 and N13 along with Jamie and Danielle. We have lots of books, prints, the figurines and original art that we'll be selling. If you're at the show, please stop by and say hello!

ILLUSTRIOUS BITS WEEK 37: ANY CHARACTER WITH GREEN SKIN - MS MARTIAN

This week's theme on Illustrious Bits was any character with green skin. I actually picked this week's theme and intended to do a few different characters. But this being the week before the 2012 New York Comicon (NYCC), I have a ton of things to do and was only able to get one sketch done. I decided to draw Ms Martian from Teen Titans (and later the Young Justice cartoon). Not wild about the background pattern I did and this was kind of a rush sketch.
